This was a lovely project to work on. Not only did I get to work with long-term collaborator Chris Wilson at blu inc, I got to work with my wife's artwork which was featured beautifully on Bristol Distilling Co's Gin 77 bottle.
What you're looking at above is version 2 of the Bristol Distilling Co. homepage. Version one was a one-pager with some wonderful movement you can see further down this page. I designed version 2 to be super simple and flexible for the range of content it's going to be displaying over the coming months as Bristol Distilling Co. evolve their emphasis from marketing to information about their range of products.
The 'Gin' page includes their signature Gin 77 and a range of liquers that have found their way into highstreet shops. It's a colourful page with some great photography. Simple and beautiful.
You can see version 1 below. Sad to see it go, but pleased version 2 prodives BDCo. with a stable foundation with which to keep evolving and moving forward.
I wanted to design and build a website that mirrored the modern British spirit embodied in both Bristol Distilling Co's gin and the artwork Frea Buckler had provided for the label. We were also keen to show that there is a fair bit of history backing up Bristol Distilling Co. About 400 years worth in fact. There are a lot of elements on version 1, smartly paced with a bit of movement and animation.
